The short version
This site sets no cookies in order to work. Nothing is stored until you press Accept in the banner, and if you press Reject the analytics script is never even requested — it is not loaded and then disabled, it simply never loads.
What is set if you accept
Accepting loads Google Analytics, which sets these in your browser:
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells one returning browser from another so visits are not double counted. | 2 years |
_ga_GX81H3GJT9 | Google Analytics | Holds the session state for this specific site. | 2 years |
_gid | Google Analytics | The same job as _ga, across a single day. | 24 hours |
The site asks Google to truncate your IP address before it is recorded.
What is stored whether or not you accept
These are browser storage entries rather than cookies. They are never transmitted anywhere — they sit on your device and can be cleared with your browsing data.
| Name | Purpose |
|---|---|
lacapra_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected, so the banner stops asking. Without it the banner could not honour your answer. |
leArcadeScores | Your personal best scores in the arcade games. Written only if you play. |
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link at the very bottom of any page. It clears the stored answer and brings the banner back, so accepting and withdrawing are equally easy. Withdrawing stops any further analytics from the next page load; to remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser.
Blocking cookies yourself
Every browser can block or delete cookies from its settings, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on for Analytics specifically. Blocking cookies will not break anything here — the site is built to work without them.
More detail
What happens to the data behind these cookies, and everything else the site collects, is set out in the privacy policy.
